After Leavitt was fired, Duemig spent the second half of the show basically putting Rich Basacchia in the Head Coach position. Pretty obvious now that Leavitt is out he is looking for a buddy to be coach.

that guy better not get an interview.  need a college guy

Duemig's just getting out in front.

Hire his guy - you're a genius.

Hire someone else - you're an idiot

This should save you some listening time over the next few weeks.  :)

Steve Deumig is a clown. He better not have any impact on USF's hiring decision. I remember he always complained about how Gruden couldn't get out of the first round of the playoffs (despite the SB win his first year); now after Gruden leaves its clear that he didnt have the talent. Deumig is a Jackass.

I remember how he was talking Raheem Morris up before Gruden was fired last year and how he would be a great coach and all that.  Then what happens?  3-13.

Deumig is a tool and a drunk... why would USF with a budget of $1.5M to $2.0M (which is in the top 30) for a new head coach hire a Special Teams coach from the NFL.  I'm not saying that CJL didn't need to go (based on performance and not from some hack report that clearly has a lot of holes), but we have a real good chance of becoming a UCF type program without a coach that brings the passion that Jimmy brought. College football is won and loss in recruiting and the emotion that comes from the locker room. If DW tries to cut corners and save a few bucks by hiring the an unproven coach I'm afraid we are in for a long couple of years. The last thing we need to do is lose the momentum that CJL brought to the program.

Sports radio sucks so I know nothing of Duming but Bassacia has been a college coach for almost all of his career

Actually Bisaccia has some creds and college experience. I am not sure how long you listened but Dave Moore called in and gave a glowing endorsement of Rich. I was very surprised by that. He said there would be a long list of players and coaches that would endorse and support Bisaccia and USF.

From Bucs.com here are his creds.

Someone that has never been anything more than a special teams coordinator at any level?  No thanks.

I doubt he will be given the head coach at USF. DUImig just likes to think of USF being small time playing in the weakest BCS conference. Hiring somone without that name will only prove his point. Basaccia and Leavitt are good friends, and the has helped with the program in the past. I just dont see him as the head coach, maybe an assistant coach.
