and more coaching

``I can't even say the dang quarterback's last name right, and he ripped our defense apart,'' Leavitt said.   -STUPID

``I wanted to get to the fourth quarter with a chance to win,'' Leavitt said. ``We knew this would be a tough assignment. Cincinnati had a week off, it was senior day and all that. But I thought we would battle a little better than that.'' -HEY JIM-HOW ABOUT TRYING TO WIN GAME FROM START

WHAT A BRILLANT PHILOSOPHY!

Give Jim a QB that can make the pass and he will be fine. There was no **** reason that we couldnt score on our first two drives. Matt Grothe will lead USF into the promise land.

Hell, Leavitt put PJ on schollie... he's approved of the recruiting... what will make Grothe any better? We definitely can't get much worse. What about the 80 mph swing pass? Some of his balls should have been caught... but he should goto a clinic from Gino G next time before stepping on the same field with him.

Julmiste didn't even throw the ball in high school, he ran the wishbone.  Grothe is 100x better a passer then Julmiste.  Grothe is a polished passer already, the coaches had to teach Julmiste how to throw a football.  He has a good arm, he just isn't a QB.

It was the Wing-T and they do pass the ball out of that offense, when they arent running sweeps and cross traps.

if jewelmist  didn't throw in high school why would  leavitt recruit him to play qb in a passing offense?

is there a gag here?

another great quote

``We should have played better. We should have played smarter,'' USF coach Jim Leavitt said.

Suspect Scheme

The first thing Leavitt did after the game was point the finger at himself and the defensive coaches.

``We didn't have a very good plan, obviously,'' he said.

how did army beat cinnci

whAT  scheme did they use?

THIS MAY BE LEAVITT'S PROBLEM;

Leavitt still coaches every game like the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl, so don't talk to him about rebuilding or looking ahead to the Big East. He'll have none of that.

HE HAS TO TEACH THese kids and  show them how to play the game and how to win

this isn't 4th q of super bowl

You guys seem to forget:

1.  Banks was supposed to be our starter this year.

2.  We went after Brent Schaeffer and Cornelius Ingram.

3.  Although Julmiste was aweful, he wasn't out there trying to cover Cincinnati receivers.

4.  There were too many drops by the receivers.

our secondary play is as bad as our QB play.  Also we were getting no pressure on the QB.
