I was curious to see how old the BE football schools were and here is what I found. Rutgers was founded in 1766 and started playing football in 1869. That's 134 years of football! (No team: 1871) Pitt was founded in 1787 and started playing football in 1890. That is 114 years of football! Louisville was founded in 1798 and started playing football in 1912. That's 85 years of football. (No Team:  1917-1920, 1943-1945) Cincinnati was founded in 1819 and started playing football in 1885. That is 116 years of football! (No Team:  1907, 1943-1944) W. Virgina was founded in 1867 and started playing football in 1891. That is 111 years of football! (No Team:  1892, 1918} Syracuse was founded in 1870 and started playing football in 1889. That is 114 years of football! (No Team:  1943) UCONN was founded in 1881 and started playing football in 1896. That is 105 years of football! (No Team:  1917-1918, 1943) And you all know that USF was founded in 1956 and started playing football in 1997. That is 7 years of football. All-time records 66.23% USF (51-26-0) 57.71% Syracuse (659-432-51) 56.64% W. Virgina (632-432-45) 55.91% Pitt (620-447-42) 48.52% Louisville (394-401-17) 47.81% Rutgers (558-566-43) 46.43% Cincinnati (494-519-51) 46.04% UCONN (430-466-38 ) Kizarvexis USF is definitely the NEW kid on the block in the BE. Looking at the new Big East, not one team finished in the top 25. Even a CUSA school finished in the top 25.Honestly, the new Big East is not as good as the MAC. If USF can't finish in the top three from the start, then USF will have issues.

This is the only amazing year that they have ever had. But because they have had this one really good year, you cant say that its better than the new BE, or the remaining BE. They have a couple of really good teams and the rest of the league is absolutely horrible. Even Temple and Rutgers regularly beat up on Buffalo. The BE teams play higher competition on a regular basis. The new BE teams have just fallen apart in bowl competition, but year in and year out the new BE is and will continue to be better than the MAC.
