Way too early to do a mock draft without knowing where NFL teams will finish.  Who knows if the #1 pick will be a QB? What if the team drafting #1 doesn't need one - or signs a good free agent before the draft?

My guess is Selvie is not in his first round.

Not really. Tebow is a scheme QB.  He never - never - lines up under center.  He's not a pro-style QB... and he will have to learn how to make reads on defenses while back pedalling.

Don't forget -- when a QB wins the Heisman, they almost always suck in the NFL.

if tebow wants to make it in the league he is gonna have to be a matt jones type player.  he will not be a full time nfl qb.

Kiper doesn't do a draft projection. It's simply a ranking of this year's seniors. Subjective, of course, but fundamentally different from a draft projection.

People are shy on Selvie after last season...another big year and he's a 1st rounder easy.

As for Tebow, quit listening to the masses. Bradford lined up under center less than 10% of his snaps last fall.

Tebow will be a QB in the NFL and a solid one. All the guy has done at UF is be great...do I see him as a great NFL QB?No. But he'll start and be solid for years.

I love looking at Mock Drafts and NFL Prospect rankings. So I went ahead and compiled rankings and mock drafts from around the web and made a little condensed version.

-------------------------------------

Scout.com - In cahoots with ESPN

5 Stars - George Selvie (#2 DE) - (23rd Overall) - 1st Round

4 Stars - Nate Allen (#11 S) - (127th Overall) - 4th Round

3 Stars - Kion Wilson (#11 MLB) - (155th Overall) - 5th Round

3 Stars - Jerome Murphy (#22 CB) - (210th Overall) - 7th Round

3 Stars - Matt Grothe (#15 QB) - (220th Overall) - 7th Round

2 Stars - Jesse Hester Jr. (#34 WR) - (379th Overall) - Not Drafted/Free Agency

Last year there were 256 picks in the NFL draft, so I put an estimate after their names' since Scout has no such draft projections. Obviously if two teams don't need DE's in the 1st round then George wouldn't be drafted there, but this gives you a general idea.

--------------------------------------------

This mock draft is linked from the CBS Sports website which I find odd because it seems in very poor quality and CBS has their very own NFL Prospect ranking section (see below).

1st Round

#6 Raiders - George Selvie

#31 Patriots - Nate Allen

5th Round

#131 Chiefs - Matt Grothe

Not the most believable of scenarios. Even weirder if you click the link to the 2010 Mock Draft at the bottom it's completely different with Selvie to Buffalo @ 11, Nate Allen to the 49ers in the 3rd round, and Grothe to Denver in the 5th round. No mention of Jerome Murphy anywhere.

--------------------------------------------

Now if you actually go to the NFL draft section of the CBS website you can get their breakdown of all prospects.

2010 Draft Prospects:

George Selvie: 31st Overall prospect - 4th DE - Projected Round: 2nd

Nate Allen: 41st Overall prospect - 2nd FS - Projected Round: 2-3rd

Jerome Murphy: 50th Overall prospect - 7th CB - Projected Round: 2-3rd

Kion Wilson: 157th Overall prospect - 9th ILB - Projected Round: 5-6th

Matt Grothe: 329th Overall prospect - 19th QB - Projected Round: Not Drafted

2011 Draft Prospects:

Carlton Mitchell - 11th WR - Projected Round: 3rd

Mike Ford - 13th RB - Projected Round: 5-6th

After those guys they have a few of our 2011 guys listed like Sampson Genus, Craig Marshall, A.J. Love, Andrew Ketchel, and Terrell McClain. But none are expected to be drafted or picked up (at this point) via free agency in their mock draft/prospect rankings. It is, however, a good sign that they are listed which means they're being watched by someone. I'd try and find more and even look at their 2012 and 2013 rankings but searching through that site is very tedious.

--------------------------------------------

Walter Football - 2010 Draft Prospects

George Selvie - 6th DE - Projected Round: 2nd

Nate Allen - 9th S - Projected Round: 3-4th

Jerome Murphy - 28th CB - Projected Round: 6-7th

--------------------------------------------

When you really dig deep it's funny what you can find out there. Jerome Murphy isn't even listed on some boards, some say he is a 2nd to 3rd round pick, or even a 6th or 7th. One website has Selvie, Grothe, Nate, and Chris Robinson on their top 100 NFL prospects. They have Robinson rated higher than Allen and Grothe, while also leaving off Jerome. Which only means they feel he isn't a top 100 prospect but also that Grothe and Robinson are better NFL prospects, which I kindly disagree. We'll clearly get a better gauge on this as the season progresses.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
