Eat For Free Tickets On Sale Sunday

I would bet these are upper deck seats... for the reasons stated by daAntagoinistUSF.

End zone seats are $147.  Upper deck seats were offered for $50... so if you figure the $150 is for the $50 seats, then it makes sense.

anyone know where these seats are located? My guess would be lowerdeck endzone seats.

Those seats were filled last season, so I doubt they would go there. I'll say it's another upper level section.

Agree... has to be the upper deck sections.  There aren't enough seats available in the lower deck to have any kind of plan to sell them.  Also, remember, you don't get something for nothing.  You're not going to get a $150 seat in the lower bowl for $150 AND get $120 in food.

welcome to the post-modern world, '83.

"free" is a relative term.

charging $150 for a package that includes a $50 seat and $120 worth of vouchers is considered "eating free" in the parlance of today's marketing and promoting strategies.

nevermind that what you're essentially getting is basically $20 more in vouchers than the combined face value of the tickets and the vouchers if bought separately...

normal tickets/$50 + vouchers/$120 = $170

Eat for Free = $150

in other words, the "Eat for Free" tickets save customers $20 over the price of the tickets + vouchers bought separately... whether one looks at it as $20 in free vouchers or $20 off the ticket price [$50 - $20 = $30 + $120 in vouchers = $150] is merely a matter of how one chooses to reconcile themself to the mathematical reality that in order to "eat free," one must pay an additional $100 for tickets that would otherwise only cost $50.

but you should definitely overlook that fact so you, too, can partake of the joy of eating "free"...

;)

Also, when eating for "free" consider - do you spend $20 inside Raymond James stadium during each game?  If you drink beer, you might spend more so that could be a good thing.  However, if you tailgate and eat enough before the games, you may not spend $20 per game on food...

For existing season ticket holders consider this... if you buy another ticket (although a pair would be easier), you could give away or re-sell the tickets and keep the vouchers.  Effectively, you could make money with this deal...

Option A:

"Joe" is a season ticket holder with two tickets. He spends $30 per game on food for him and his guest, in addition to the money he spent on tailgating.  That means he spends $180 on food.

Option B:

"Joe" buys two more season tickets for $300.  He sells the tickets for an average of $10 each per game  ($120) - some are worth more than others.  Then uses the vouchers on food for him and his guest ($240 value).

Under option B, Joe spends the same amount of $$, but can eat or drink $60 more of food without spending the extra $60.

(Assuming the seats could be sold for the average of $10 per seat per game.  If he averages more, he could come out further ahead.)

or, on the flip-side, $20 a game probably won't be enough for people that drink.  2 beers and you're already out $15.  throw in any food product and that basically eliminates your voucher.

also, if the seats are normally $50 and you're paying an extra $100 to get $120 in vouchers, really all you're saving on that deal is $20 over the ENTIRE SEASON, because the face value of the tickets plus the vouchers is only $170 to begin with.

that $20 in savings/"free" vouchers over the course of 6 games equals out to about $3.33 per game.

For existing season ticket holders consider this... if you buy another ticket (although a pair would be easier), you could give away or re-sell the tickets and keep the vouchers.  Effectively, you could make money with this deal...

absolutely.

the only reason to really buy into this "deal" would be resale of the tickets and keeping the vouchers.

the only risk would be failing to sell all tickets/failure to recoup, which could result in a net loss.

You might want to check and make sure the stadium dollars include the purchase of beer/alcohol. I had stadium dollars for the Bucs once and it excluded beer/alcohol purchases.

The message at USF says that they are $150 Uperdeck seats, so my guess is uperdeck sideline seats. Marketing this year has been great. Although the ticket is a tough sell when 1/3 of the games are vs a 1AA school.
