Also how can the AL champs open on the road? I read somewhere that the sch is made before the World Series. Not to mention both the NL Champ in 07 The Rockies and the 07 World Champion Redsox opened 2008 on the road. Its not a MLB against the Rays thing. The funny thing is Stu is crying about his wonderful dome stadium being empty, but he wants to move out of a dome into an open aired stadium. I don't like the feel of domes. I know summer in Florida is probably the least enjoyable time to be outside(the opposite of the NE or Midwest where baseball season is the sign that summer is near after a long, cold winter) but a retractable roof ballpark like Houston's would work great in Hillsborough County(sorry St. Pete, half of your population are in rollers). They have that window in the outfield that comes down when they open the roof, very nice, the Rays should follow that model. The Sail idea was stupid, a thunderstorm on the water would blow water in the stands very easily. But I just don't think Florida has a baseball culture, both franchises will never consistently draw, College Football and Nascar are the big 2 for the masses in this region. unfortunately.
