It is larger than 65 in a sense.  Almost every conference has a tournament and in almost everyone of those tournaments every team in the conference plays.  Therefore just about every team has an opportunity to win the national championship regardless of how well there regular season went.

Last I heard 16th seed teams are 96 - 0 vs. 1 seeds. Can't imagine how expanding the tournament will do anything.

Teams that are 16 seeds won there conference tournament and that is the only reason they're in.  Expanding would add more teams that would be 10-13 seeds, like Florida, or Miami.

But i say no. 65 is enough and with the NIT, and now the CBI there are enough tournaments.
