Especially if they use Kelly as a real FB.

with BBQ gone and a bunch of new guys on the OLine, Canales would have to be lost in space not to use his enormous 250+ pound fullback to pick up blocks in the pass game and create holes for Ford and Taylor in the ground game.

i expect to see more of Kelly in the backfield, as well as lining up at TE on occasion with the loss of Pupello.

Ford went to my school, so I get the inside scoop on him. Now that he has a better work ethic, hopefully that will translate to more playing time. Talent was never an issue with him, we all know he is a great talent. It was work ethic. Now that he went to winter workouts consistently, he will hopefully get more of an opportunity. And with Chico being the new OC, we will (hopefully) see a new type of offense, keeping one or two backs in the game, instead of 4 or 5.

Of course I'm cheering for him, but we need to read these stories in late August.

he will do better IMO but you are right... our system makes it REALLLLLY tough for ONE RB to have a big year.

:Duh

How did Hall have back to back 1,000 yard seasons ?

Reminder ... we have a NEW OC and will have a NEW Offense . . .  ::)

And when your Top RB's are hampered with injuries, it's tough to keep 1 guy in for 4 quarters.

    “In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

    "There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
