Trip, I don't know about Mercer.  It seemed taht there was some bad mojo aruond the team when he began playing and it went away after he was booted.  Maybe I am reading into it, but wasn't the Puerto Rico trip right after Mercer and Gilchrist started playing?

That would make sense .... Puerto Rico is certainly where this program hit rock bottom.

I believe that is was a lack of chemistry early that caused us to struggle when Gus and Mike joined the team. I don't think that would've continued if Mike never got injured.

We really could've use the defensive abilities of Mercer and Ajayi the whole season. If those two guys never got injured we could have won 3 or 4 more games at the very least imo. Mercer would've been the one guarding the other teams' best guard allowing Jones to rest up a little on defense which gives him more energy for offense. We saw what SHU Jeremy Hazel was able do to us. Jones had to try and guard him the whole game, but he rarely guarded Jones instead was able to rest up on D by guarding a non-offensive player in Leemow.
