Scout appears to be reporting him as a new commit. He attended Hargrave and was a Class of '08 grad who did not qualify. We were in the running the first time around and it seems that it was between us and FSU. He is a big space eater at DT (6'3'' 300 lbs.) who should be ready to come in and contribute.

Even more intriguing is the note that he may be trying to convince one of his teammates to come and join him. Onterio McCalebb is an absolute burner who commited to Auburn out of HS but failed to qualify. It seemed like he was going to recommit to Auburn, but with the coaching change it seems like he has opened things back up and is looking at Clemson adn possibly USF.

Who did thornton originally commit to???

Thatd be cool id we got Mcalebb, but Id imagine our RB depth is already too deep for another.

big kid, this is the size I'm talking about. He might not be the highest star, in this case is ok, because this kid is beef in the middle and I'm sure he'll fit right in. This guy could see immediate playing time if he is any good.

He originally committed to FSU but didn't qualify.  Excellent pick up.

Clemson is now heavily pursuing Thornton and he has scheduled an official visit.
