Here's a 2007 observation about Andre from his coach, teammate, and Dave Telep(Scout.com BB writer)

By the start of school, Marhold, now 6-7, came to campus at 215 pounds, and he hasn’t slowed down his work rate.

“Andre has improved 100 percent from last year,†Lewis said. “He’s a gym rat. He really buys into it. He works hard. He leaves our practices now and goes and works out again.â€

Marhold averages 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Vikings, who play at Harding tonight in a second-round game of the N.C. 4A playoffs

Lewis said the schools like Marhold’s long wingspan, his strength and his athleticism. Marhold dunks effortlessly in games from a flat-footed position and jumps over similar players for soft moves around the basket

He jumps so high,†teammate Kyle Gaillard said, “sometimes I think he’ll hit his head on the ceiling

Telep, the national recruiting analyst for scout.com, thinks Marhold is a potential national top 100 player next year and among the top five or six in a 2009 N.C. class that could be the best in years.

“He’s a guy who is gradually earning high major-level offers,†Telep said. “He’s got a chance to play in one of the big leagues in college because of his athleticism. He just needs to continue to work on his perimeter shot and his overall game.

South Florida, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Clemson Charlotte, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Virginia are showing interest or have offered him.

Since that article Andre has improved his ball handling and improved his range. The guy is really a gym rat and is always working to improve his game.

Another important note is Andre plays for North Meek which is the same school and has the same coach(Duane Lewis) that Jamie Skeen comes from. As we know Skeen will be here this weekend hmmm...

It would be nice, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Im going to agree with the "would be nice but unlikely."

You would think we would be appealing to a SF. He would have the chance to come in here and start with Mercer, Jones, Rivas/Espinosa and Gilchrist. That would be a good lineup if you ask me.

Hopefully the idea of playing with Gus and Jones for 2 years will excite enough recruits to get us a few more decent players.

In 2008, USF lost out on every major b-ball recruit they went after.  They are depending on transfers and the backup QB Daniels for talent.  As these players got a late start, it is understandible that the team has yet to gel, yet Stan Heath and the Bulls will have to prove they are winners by hook or crook in order to bring in big talent.  Who wants to come in and be one of the whipping boys of the Big East?  Most choose a proven program.  USF will get there, yet they need a couple of breakout games just like the football team did in 07'

Ouch.

Hopefully yesterday's game had no bearing on that decision :(

Commits to  Duquesne Dukes

I have a friend who is a cheerleader there, at one point there was a shooting on campus where a few of the basketball players were involved and where one was shot in the face and survived, they have an ok team, surprised somebody who so many big time offers would choose the Dukes over the other schools offering him.
