Did you not see him hand a pack of flowers to his mother? His football career is over after the bowl game.

Senior night is a special occassion.  Good for the Bulls to win.

if he can stay and help with depth then that's great for us. BJ will get playing time regardless, assuming we can warrant taking grothe out of the game.

bottom line, Grothe is our QB and BJ Daniels needs to be the primary backup.  period.  he is our future.

i have no problem with Grant Gregory.  i'm the first person in 125 calling for him when Grothe makes mistakes.

but i don't like the 6th year of eligibility because it will most likely mean one or more of the following things:

1) BJ remains 3rd on the depth chart because Leavitt is loyal to certain players to a fault--- especially seniors that have been with the team for a long time and have put in work at practice.

2) Grant sticking around could likely mean dad sticks around at OC.

3) Evan Landi is going to need some playing time when BJ takes over the reigns in 2010. we need a backup with some in-game experience.  that won't happen if we have Matt, Grant and BJ on the depth chart.  we've had a hard enough time getting Grant in the game this year, the 4th string QB ain't seeing the field.  when does Landi get some touches?

if the only reason we don't fire our OC is because his son is the BACK-UP QB with no future then we should not only fire the OC but the HC and AD as well.

this is Big Time D-1 College Football....not Pop Warner.

True, we have silly posters that think this way though.

Some don't know you can apply for a 6th year after you exhausted 5  ::) Ignorance runs deep here.

Grant is #2 because he has earned it. Any way, how often does a #2 play ? Grothe is tough. Some want an unproven player play only on potential. Grant was a top QB in OH/PA area.

The better QB will play and the 2nd best will backup.

Go BULLS !!!

Keeping Grant instead of recruiting our next QB is an epic fail

Keeping Grant will have nothing to do with recruiting Eugene.

maybe eugene will agree with you while USf is fighting to keep their backup for his 6th year

Sure he isn't worried about competition as 2010 would be his target date and Grothe & Gregory would be gone.
