Seeing how we are again playing like a mid-major team we will land in a mid-major bowl.

Mike,

Did you not see Illinois get picked last year? The Rose Bowl wants Big 10 v. Pac 10 and they'll do anything for it.

Here's what I got.

ACC - FSU

Big 10 - Penn State and OSU

Big East - WVU

Big 12 - Texas and Oklahoma

PAC 10 - USC

SEC - Alabama anf Fla/Ga winner

WAC - Boise State

That's your ten, remember you can only take 2 per conference.

which is basically the same thing I said but does not answer the confusion I had since you are putting the most likely Big Ten Champ (Penn State) in both the BCS NC game and the Rose bowl-- based on what you typed

go back, read my response, see the bolded items from your post-- and alo notice that I assumed you meant Ohio State.

But let me warn you-- if Ohio State somehow falls outside the requirements of the BCS at large-- they are not going to be eligible for the Rose Bowl... a very definite possibility with two losses, and guaranteed if they lose to Illinois (which I am pulling for).

Mike, I dont't get bold on my cell, so I can't see what you're emphasising.

I had the Rose taking OSU as the replacement for PSU.

OSU will be well within the top 14 if they win their last few, heck they can lose on and be ok.

I disagree-- if they lose to Illinois and Minnesota wins out, the Gophers mightget the nod

The Florida/Georgia winner will be the SEC East Champion and will play Alabama.  I don't know if both the SEC Champ and the SEC runner-up will both get BCS slots.  More likey is the SEC Champ and the Florida/Georgia loser.

There is no way to predict what is going to happen ... can Oklahoma be in the Top 2 without winning their conference? What if Penn State, Alabama, and Texas all stumble once.  Imagine Texas Tech as the Big 12 Champion (could easily happen - with a win this weekend in Lubbock the Red Raiders will be atop the Big 12 South with a cake schedule until they play Missouri).

LSU could beat Bama. So could Florida. Georgia would love a rematch in Atlanta.  I don't see the Tide going 13-0.

Penn State has the best chance of going 12-0, although a Michigan State team could surprise.

Moreover, what if Utah and Boise State are both in the Top 10?  Would both get BCS slots even tho one is automatic?

So, even if there is no way to predict, here is what I see happening:

NC: Penn State (Big 10 Champ) vs Florida (SEC Champ)

Rose selects Ohio State to replace Penn State (Big 10 Champion) to face Pac 10 Champion (USC)

Sugar selects Alabama to replace Florida (SEC Champion)

Fiesta selects Boise State to face Big 12 Champion (Texas Tech)

Sugar selects Oklahoma to face Alabama

Orange selects West Virginia to face ACC Champion (Maryland)

If Texas wins out, then I could see Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl which would put WVU in New Orleans and Boise/Utah in Miami.

We are not going to a BCS bowl, sorry but last week's loss closed that deal.

If we can manage to pull our heads from our arses we can play in the Gator and I think they would want us to.  We will travel well to Jax.

St Pete Bowl wants us because we have a built in fan base, but would want another team from out of area to fill hotels.

MCC might take us back, depending on how that one works out.
