We play in a good conference, not great

So far, the coaches are right.  This is a tough conference to play in. One word... Parity

There are 6 teams that are 5-2 or 6-2 in this conference and there are 4 teams that are "also receiving votes" in the coaches poll.

A bad conference is the Sun Belt... another one would be CUSA.  We have 5 teams in the Top 33.  That's a good conference.

Kansas and NCState aren't bad wins for us.

WVU beat Auburn, Louisville beat Kansas State, Pitt beat Iowa,  UConn beat Virginia [which is 1st in the ACC Atlantic division]...

no, we don't have the most incredible OOC record, but those are all reasonable wins.

When it comes to BCS conferences (which is WHERE WE ARE), the Big East is the worst, hands down.  Even worse than a bad PAC-10 and a weak ACC.  That's sad.

I'm not going to use CUSA or the Sun Belt just to make myself feel better.

NC State is horrible.

Auburn is among the worst two or three teams in the SEC.

Kansas State is putrid as they've beaten total doormats.

Iowa isn't all that great.

Virginia is looking better, so UConn may actually have the best OOC win, not us.  Kansas is not longer ranked.

No.  Just giving you an example of a BAD conference.  Bottom line... 5 teams in the TOP 33.

the Big East simply isn't a bad conference.

some of our better teams suffered bad losses early [WVU losing to ECU and Colorado come to mind], but two of our 8 teams are 6-2, and four of our 8 teams are 5-2.

when 6/8 teams are 5-2 or better two thirds of the way thru the season, we are not  a bad conference.

we may not have a single dominant team this season the way WVU or Louisville have been the past couple years, but every year, year in year out 6 of our 8 teams will give u a tough game.
