Not really sure I follow CJL's logic here.  Now that it appears BJ won't see much (if any) playing time the rest of the year he thinks it would be a good idea to redshirt BJ.

What games this year did CJL realistically think BJ was going to see any significant playing time?

What's the reason not to get him a few snaps in his redshirt year?  The kid will now have 5 years of playin experience.  Given it's not much, but hey every little bit helps early on.

It probably won't happen.

Usually it has to be an injury that removes him from the field permanently. Like a broken leg.

It could happen, but I'd say it's more likely not going to happen.

Why do you people believe the coaches wont get him red shirted?  Do you not think the coaches know what they're doing?

I'm continually baffled by some of you on this issue.

Yeah it might seem a little dishonest, but every program in the nation does it. Who's to say that after the first game BJ didn't get nicked up?  Maybe they tried to get him in a few more times, but it just wasn't working.  Now they're using a legitimate red shirt.

Because Martin. I work compliance for a NCAA Div I school.

It could happen, but unless his wrist is broken, etc it's gonna be tough.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
