If they run the ball in the 2nd half to shorten the game and give up no turnovers or big plays, they win.

Let's see....

Didn't commit to run to shorten game, turnover at own 20 yd line, give up big punt return TD = loss.

Miami came to play in the 2nd half as everyone knew they would, but UL gave this one away.

Jake u couldn't be more wrong.  Miami took this game back from UL.  Hester & Berlin took over the second half.  One more thing.  I really dislike the BCS brown nose Herbstreit.  Ohio State punk.

I disagree.  Sure Miami made plays in 2nd half as expected.  But UL gave them 3 pts. on the QB fumble (which happens to be the difference on the scoreboard), had a poor offensive gameplan in the 2nd half, and their D didn't show up.  Not to mention poor special teams.

All UL had to do was protect the ball, keep the play in front of them, and pound the run with their 3 big backs and they would be celebrating the upset.

ul gave the game away!

1. why kick to hester, who just burned you on a punt return?

2. ball in chest, 3 min left, you have the lead, get the **** interception

3. no pressure on a qb than makes poor plays under pressure

all in all good game puts ul on the map and helps the BE, a win would have been better

UM OL locked out UL DL.  Berlin made the plays in the second half.  I do agree that Petrino didn't coach wisely in the second half.  Kicking to Hester and not using timeouts with UM inside the UL 4 yardline wasn't what I'd consider stellar coaching decisions.  IMO the UM O stepped up & the UL D ran out of gas.  UM D also played much better too.  That's why I'm not taking any credit away from UM.  "Canes took it to the Cards.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
