These games could be upsets

SAT                            #8 Alabama (4-0, 1-0)  @  #3 Georgia (4-0, 1-0)  - Bama

SAT 09/27 -- 3:30pm  -- #9 Wisconsin (3-0, 0-0) @ Michigan (1-2, 0-0) --  Mich

SAT 09/27 -- 3:30pm  -- Tennessee (1-2, 0-1)  @  #15 Auburn (3-1, 1-1) -- Tennessee

Agree with all but UGA. I think they win by 14+. Made that bet with a Bama fan this morning in fact.

We'll see if AU can win at home, if it were in Tenn, I would say it's a lock for Tenn. Wisconsin hasn't won at Michigan in a while I think, I like Michigan at home in this one.

Week 5 -- FINAL

1) USF's Game

#13 South Florida (5-0, 0-0)  41  --  North Carolina State (2-3, 0-0)  10

2) Games involving one or more schools on USF's 2008 schedule.

#31 Connecticut (3-0, 1-0)  26  --  Louisville (2-2, 0-1)  21

Pittsburgh (3-1, 1-0)  34  --  Syracuse (1-4, 0-1)  24

#40 West Virginia (2-2, 0-0)  27  --  Marshall (3-2, 2-0)  3

Cincinnati (3-1, 0-0)  17  --  Akron (2-3, 0-1)  15

Rutgers (1-3, 0-0)  38 --  Morgan State (2-2, 0-0)  0

Florida International (1-3, 0-0)  35  --  Toledo (1-3, 1-0)  16

Tennessee-Martin (4-1, 2-0)  63  --  Murray State (1-4, 0-1)  38

UTEP (1-3, 1-0)  58  --  Central Florida (1-3, 0-1)  13

IDLE: #18 Kansas (3-1,0-0)

3) Games involving Notre Dame because of its ties to Big East bowl games.

Notre Dame (3-1, 0-0)  38  --  Purdue (2-2, 0-0)  21

4) Games involving teams two ranked teams and at least one of the teams is ranked higher than the 2nd highest Big East team.

If the highest and 2nd highest teams can move up and up the polls, then there is at least a chance that 2 Big East teams could make the 10 BCS slots.  Big East ranks: #13 South Florida, #31 Connecticut

#2 Oklahoma (4-0, 0-0)  35  --  #24 Texas Christian (4-1, 1-0)  10

#8 Alabama (5-0, 2-0)  41  --  #3 Georgia (4-1, 1-1)  30

#12 Penn State (5-0, 1-0)  [38/b]  --  #22 Illinois (2-2, 0-1)  24

5) Games involving a Top 12 non-BCS team, or a Top 16 non-BCS team ranked higher than any BCS conference's

highest ranked team.

If no teams from the non-BCS conferences make the BCS, then that would mean 4 at-large slots in the 5 BCS bowls.  This increases the chances for 2 Big East teams to be selected.

Highest ranked non-BCS team: #11 Brigham Young

Lowest ranked BCS conference's highest ranked team: #16 Wake Forest (ACC)

      (Pac 10: #1, Big 12: #2, SEC: #3, Big Ten: #9, Big East: #13)

IDLE: #11 Brigham Young (4-0, 1-0)

6) Other games of interest, including teams ranked in the Top 25.

USF is #13 in the AP poll.

Oregon State (2-2, 1-1)  27  --  #1 USC (3-1, 0-1)  21

#14 Ohio State (5-1, 1-0)  34  --  #42 Minnesota (4-1, 0-1)  21

Maryland (4-1, 1-0)  20  --  #20 Clemson (3-2, 1-1)  17

Mississippi (3-2, 1-1)  31  --  #4 Florida (3-1, 1-1)  30

#7 Texas (4-0, 0-0)  52  --  Arkansas (2-2, 0-1)  10

Michigan (2-2, 1-0)  27  --  #9 Wisconsin (3-1, 0-1)  25

#15 Auburn (4-1, 2-1)  14  --  Tennessee (1-3, 0-2)  12

Houston (2-3, 1-0)  41  --  #23 East Carolina (3-2, 1-1)  24

#25 Fresno State (3-1, 0-0)  36  --  UCLA (1-3, 0-1)  31

#40 Florida State (3-1, 0-1)  39  --  #29 Colorado (3-1, 0-0)  21

Navy (3-2)  24  --  #16 Wake Forest (3-1, 1-0)  17

#5 LSU (4-0, 2-0)  34  --  Mississippi State  (1-4, 0-2)  24

#17 Utah (5-0, 2-0)  37  --  Weber State (3-2, 1-0)  21

IDLE: #6 Missouri (4-0, 0-0), #10 Texas Tech (4-0, 0-0), #19 Boise State (3-0, 0-0), #21 Vanderbilt (4-0, 2-0)

My prediction of ND stealing the Gator Bowl away from the Big East is on par so far.  With a Third of the season done, the Irish are 3-1.  Most likely they'll be favored in every game left on their schedule except for USC.  They could also lose at UNC or BC, but that puts them at 8-4 at worst.  USF needs to win the conference so we aren't the ones getting screwed out of the Gator.

Clearly looks that way, but Navy is looking tough too... but ND will be at least 7-5 and going to a Big East bowl.

I think this is a good thing this year.  Notre Dame will get our best bowl and have to play a decent team to keep their bowling losing streak going (8 games in a row now?), meanwhile our Big East teams will play crappier teams and actually stand a chance to win.

Granted, it's only cool if USF wins the Big East and I'd still rather Notre Dame lose in case USF can get the Gator Bowl.
