As we all know, the BCS was never about competition on the field. It has always been about TV dollars - advertising and corporate sponsorships. With that in mind, what is South Florida's tv market?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I work in a business closely affiliated with TV ratings, so I think I can field this one.   ;D

http://www.nielsenmedia.com/DMAs.html

As of September 20, 2004, The Tampa-St. Pete (Sarasota) market was ranked 13th nationally out of 210 designated market areas by Nielsen Media Research.

The Tampa DMA is larger than cities such as Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Cleveland, Denver, Sacramento, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, San Diego, etc.  It encompasses approximately 1.67M homes, and represents 1.525% of all TV households in the USA.

Do you have any markets outside of the Tampa-Clearwater-St. Petersburg area?

Does anyone in Orlando or in sw Florida watch your games?

I'm sure some do.  We have alumni in those areas and others would watch, if their favorite team wasn't on, because it's a Florida school.

Don't forget Citrus, Hardee, and Highlands county. They're "officially" in the Neilsen demographic for Tampa-St. Pete as well.
