  1. That is so sad. Our condolences from the Mountaineer nation. God bless his friends and family.
  2. y'all should have a good time. No offense, but WVU Nation doesn't really know a lot about USF. I think the reaction to usf will be pretty subdued actually. You will get the normal smack talk on the way inside to the stadium. (y'all sux, we're gonna kill ya) stuff like that. There will be a few jerks who may be drunk and may give you the bird or other obscenities. As long as you're polite and take the smack, y'all be fine. I suspect you'll be offered a beer or ten. Stay away from The Pit. That is the student section. The students are gone for Thanksgiving, but still a word for the wise for opposiing opponents. I hope you have fun, but not too much fun during the game. Cheers.......
  3. don't forget, norfolk is right up the road in virginia.... navy has fans all across the country and always sells well... Every team that is eligible in the big east will make a bowl game this year. how good of a bowl it is remains to be seen.... cheers
  4. The defense is embarassed because of the poor performance. slaton will look to hang on to the ball better. everyone believes wvu did not play its best game. we hope that we have an outside (10% chance) of still playing in a bcs bowl game (assuming notre dame, cal and boise all lose). so this will be a statement game at home........ it could be worse than last year's 38 to nothing shut out, except rich calls off the dogs in the fourth quarter because we play pitt on thursday
  5. does a coach define the program or does a program define the coach? Is Miami still a great program without Jimmy Johnson? Is Florida mediocre without Steve Spurrier? Does an undefeated Big 10 champion Penn State team get left ouf of the national title game (98)? Does an undefeated SEC Champion Auburn get left out of a national title game? ('04) The Big East conference has arguably the easiest path to the national title game every year.
  6. "The payout difference between the Gator Bowl and Texas Bowl is significant." Bowl money is paid from the conference and not directly from the respective bowls. After the other football money from tv, I think the bcs & bowl money goes something like this: 1st place - $2.4 million 2nd place $1.8 million 3rd place - $1.5 million 4th place - $1.2 million 5 - 8 - $1.0 million per school. Army and Navy travel very well.  I think Syracuse has an outside chance of getting to 6 games this year. Congrats on beating the heels.
  7. If both Syracuse and USF get 6 wins this year, you will both get bowl bids. There will be an open spot somewhere.  It may be before Christmas, but a bowl nonetheless. Beat Carolina
  8. IMHO, I don't believe this will come to fruitition. At the next NCAA conference, it is going to be recommended that Div-1AA and Div-1A football schools be merged. I don't see enough votes coming up at the NCAA to stop it.
  9. That's a good price. I flew out of RDU to Tampa for the WVU - USF game on Delta. It was higher than that.
  10. I have heard that Tampa is being looked at as one of the host cities. The want to use the St. Petersburg Times arena.
  11. Is it true that FSU Jenn went to USF for 2 years? Her wave of popularity is set to crest this spring with photo spreads in the March Maxim and the May Playboy, not to mention her own Web sites, JennSterger.com and CowgirlNation.com , which she hopes to launch by next month. The commotion is a bit shocking to the Lutz native, a self-described " band dork" from Gaither High who attended the University of South Florida for two years... "Bottom line, this has happened to me because I was at the right place at the right time, and I love sports," says Sterger, who transferred to Florida State in 2004. "I was just dressing cute at a football game."
  12. This topic has been moved to [link=http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=04022005;action=display;num=1149802585;start=0]State of Florida College Athletics Board[/link] by Bulliever.
  13. Contrary to most denizens of WVU land, I would welcome UCF to the Big East. They would give USF a natural rival. I could fly to FL once a year to watch WVU play. UCF is a large, state university with a soon-to-be on campus stadium. Orlando is a large tv market. Another FL helps recruiting for everybody... Just my 2 cents........cheers!
