Jim - That's the exact problem.  We've got just under 3 years left on our lease.  We are out of luck and they know it.  What's already a horrible lease is only going to get worse.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  Screw the glazers and screw the bucs.  That whole organization is reason #1 for us getting our own stadium.

I'm so glad that they are the worst team in the NFL right now.  Couldn't think of anyone more deserving.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I will be overjoyed when we have a stadium of our own and don't have to share anything with the Bucs.

GO BULLS!!

It also helps that the Steelers and Panthers have similar colors.

...and that they have the same name.  They just paint Pittsburgh in gold in the endzones.

I brought this up last year, cause I would love for us to have our own paint on the field...............so I actually did some research on the issue..........and called the Tampa Sports Authority(since they are the ones in charge of the field painting.)

There are a couple reasons we dont get our own painted field for every game...

1 - To put it simply, time is needed to paint the field. They cant paint it different for 2 teams in 2 days. On off weeks for the Bucs, we should have the endzones painted for the Bulls. (we need to remember that they are the #1 tennant)

2 - Money. As with everything, money is an issue. It costs money to pay the workers to paint the field and to cover the overall costs. USF simply doesnt pay enough money to get all of the "perks" of the stadium, so to speak.

My source was the actual man in charge of all of the stadium decor and all that. I cant remember his actual name, but if u call the TSA and ask, theyll set you up with him on the phone. He was very nice and very informative and answered all of my questions.

Shoop - Money wouldn't be an issue if we got a concessions split, parking outside of the donors or a reduction in our ridiculous per game rent fee.

Yes, overalls for painting are very expensive.

Hey, I'm just relaying what he said to me.....it made sense at the time.

Call the TSA yourself and see what you get... ::)

There was a figure given for painting the endzones last year. I forget exactly what it was but it amounted to thousands of dollars. I think we paid to have them painted for the Pitt game this year, but it all got washed away in the hurricane.

BS, it was just a bad joke.  I believe the guy.  I thought when this was discussed last year, that the TSA was charging USF $5,000 each time the endzones were painted.  I believe the U on the white flag is at no charge.

$5,000 pails in comparison to the $80,000 per game the Glazers take home from our rental.
