Griffey to the Rays

he has 7 home runs and 30 rbi's, give or take a couple rbi's.

OK.  So, assuming he plays everyday, which I am just assuming because I really have no clue, if you compare his stats with what we have playing right field, Gross, Hinske and whoever else, I think we are doing better offensively with what we have...at a much reduced salary.  Defensively, I'd call it a wash, especially with Gross and Hinske is slow, but Griffey is not the defensive player he once was either.  Either way, what we need is some right handed power, not a left handed old dude who makes more $$ than he's worth.

Griffey might make sense for next year if he's replacing Floyd.  But I think he gets moved prior to the end of the season, so the Rays will most likely be out of the picture with him.

II always thought they Rays should bring him in.

Bonds won't have that kind of impact now.  If they can get him for under 5 million prorated then i say go for it.  but Bonds won't budge for less than 10 mill.

as for griffey...we dont need him.  let alone the 16 mill he wants next season.

Cliff Floyd and Hinske will do fine.  we can pick up a guy like Xavier Nady for much cheaper and would be much more valueable to us around the trade deadline.
