our first national title? when?

USF's first - and only - national championship came in 1988 (I think) when the since-eliminated men's (maybe women's? perhaps someone else should have pointed this out...) swimming and diving team won it.

closest USF has come to a national title was in the mid/late 70s when the rifle team finished 2nd once and 3rd twice
