and hired Bill Stewart, the interim coach, to be their next head coach.  after last night, anything else would have just been poor form on WVU's part.  And after watching how emotional and proud of the WVU program he is, hell, i wanted to play for him.

How does winning with Rich Rodriguez's players / staff / system make the guy the right hire?

They'll be looking for another coach in 3-4 years.

there aren't that many good coaches out there right now after all the coaching moves this season, so if he can pass the time for a few years, he will have done his job

I agree.  And it's not even all or RR's staff... their OC and Recruiting coordinator are gone... and RR might want to bring more over to Michigan.

Terry Bowden might have been a good choice.

Really though, if their money problems are as deep as they appear they may have had little choice.  They are suing RichRod for $4mil, and rumors of boosters unhappy with the Athletic Dept.  I think they'll have a new AD within the year.
