I like what Major League Soccer has done.

They have a salary cap, but they allow you to spend $$$$$$ on one big player. (David Beckham is the most famous one).

Perhaps this could work for baseball... allow one or two or three big name players that don't fall under the salary cap.

jones is just as valueable in the field though.  he saves a run a game probably.

there will not be a salary cap in BASEBALL in my lifetime

mls is failing losing proposition

no money in mls or american soccer
