as for these trades...i like them.

you cant really count on Dukes because the Rays pretty much gave up on him and getting him OUT of Tampa Bay is the best thing for him.

But Delmon was unhappy and when a player is unhappy its best to get him out of town and get something for him.  not only did the rays do that but they got a STUD pitcher.  Garza was listed by most publications as being the best pitching prospect in baseball 2 years ago.  last year he was battling injury problems but he is another inning eater with Shields.  If Kazmir can learn to the a "pitcher" and not just a thrower we have 3 solid starters that can give us 7 innings each time out.  that does HUGE things for a bullpen, specially one that will be as thin as the rays pen is.

Rocco should be healthy now and most likely play RF.  BJ Upton has the skills to be a HOF centerfielder.  some of the plays he made last year were just amazing, specially since he was still new to the position.

i hope that David Price is as good as everyone says.  He is supposed to get a good look at making the opening day roster which is almost unheard of for a rookie pitcher.

they've traded away Delmon Young and Elijah Dukes for 2 arms so far.. i'm happy about bolstering the pitching staff, but is this a sign that Rocco Baldelli is all healed up?  when healthy, i think rocco is our 2nd best outfielder (behind crawford).. that is, WHEN healthy.

In the last couple days they were voted best farm system in the MLB have some of the top prospects in the MLB that will start making it to the majors this year.  The next 5 years should be exciting for Rays fans.
