He says his seniors have never been to a bowl game and now they are getting to go to the Rose Bowl.  That's great but I don't think I'm puttin' any money on IL.  Great story anyway.

I like Zook and its about time something good happened to him. He's got a great group of kids and they're just going to keep getting better. He recruits way to well.

I like Zook and its about time something good happened to him. He's got a great group of kids and they're just going to keep getting better. He recruits way to well.

The BCS computers rank IL #16 and USF #14.

USF has the toughest schedule of any 9-3 team, other than Florida.

An argument can certainly be made that it should be USF going to THAT bowl rather than IL.

I don't begrudge them for getting it, but we should be aware that it might have come at our expense.

As you say, "He recruits way too well," and going to play in the Rose Bowl is just an additional recruiting tool which he doesn't even need to recruit against USF.

I look forward to the crackhead chess match between Pete Carroll and Ron Zook. Two of the worst game-day coaches in Division I-A. If that's a close game, the decision-making will make your head hurt.

I don't like it. Arizona State and Missouri (which beat Illinois) were more deserving of BCS bids, but the Rose Bowl had to have its precious Big Ten-Pac Ten matchup.

Besides, Ron Zook going against Florida would have been delicious.

The Rose Bowl wants out of the BCS BADLY. allowing the new top 18 rule was a concession because the Big 10 had no one else to send to the Rose Bowl. Fair or not it will almost always be like this.
