you guys are forgetting what bowl games are about most: making money!

If the gator bowl can pick 2nd and fsu and usf are left, It will likely happen because of the proximity to both campuses and it will easily sell out.

Charlotte is dying to invite Rutgers.  They took 10K across country twice, so 10-15K would be easy 500 miles away.

Also, we all know Charlotte waited until UConn lost two years ago to invite us, so we are not high on their list.

We need to win out and get ranked, as that may draw some intrigue from the Sun Bowl to match against a Pac-10 team like Cal.
