You weren't kings.  You merely got a tease of what it could be like to be king.  Being #2 earlier means nothing if you can't keep it.  The only time it truly matters is the poll in early December.

Being #2 in the first BCS poll means we had a shot at the NC game if we won out. UCif will never have that shot in CDOA.

Being #2 means that people across the country learned the name of the program

mentioned on the cover of SI, also mentioned on the front page of USA Today.

Always on the crawl on ESPN and highlights on sports center.

#2 also means a record attendance this year

But most importatantly it will not seem odd to see USF in the top 10 in the future as they have now broken the ice
