Delbert comes out for the 52 yard national championship winning field goal, will he hit it?

Not likely.....but I bout spilled my drinking laughing at that.

didn't Delbert hit that long field goal last year, something like 52 yards or longer?

I believe so, but with that much on the line and delbert's struggles this year, its not likely...dont get me wrong, I like the kid, but to me, he's a hell of a punter and a so so kicker.

Um,

Defense.

Read the question again and answer it.  I know the defense is good but not that good.

Years past we always lost games like this one....Grothe is finally getting into his running and passing rythm....with him I feel we have a shot...our RB's are really coming along as well.....like Jon says...."POUND THAT ROCK"....."POUND THAT ROCK"......

I believe so, but with that much on the line and delbert's struggles this year, its not likely...dont get me wrong, I like the kid, but to me, he's a hell of a punter and a so so kicker.

Against Syracuse last season, he kicked it from 56 yards for the Big East record.

He's 7 of 12 for this season - four of those five misses coming in the Auburn game.

Kudos to him for coming back the way he did in that game, and in the games since. I think he's a confident kicker now, and I'd love for him (or any Bull) to have the chance to win a National Championship for us..... (of course, we're all taking this one game at a time, right?)

Back to the topic... it depends.

If we're up 7-3, I pick the defense (because they have 4 downs, I'm assuming the field goal's not an option). Didn't Auburn only move the ball 2 yards in their 3 overtime plays?

If we're down 50-45, I'm thinking the offense has got their game on and they'll move 70 yards in a snap.

Honestly... the way we're playing now, I think we'd do both if the need arose (and I don't think it will).

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
