USF Bulls coverage

TAMPA – The fifth-ranked University of South Florida Bulls are gearing up for another big game this weekend, and Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio is getting in on the excitement.

On Thursday, Iorio announced she was making a friendly wager with the mayor of Orlando, Buddy Dyer, on the outcome of the Bulls game against the University of Central Florida Knights.

The wager has become an annual tradition, and this year Mayor Dyer has agreed to offer Mayor Iorio a Darden meal if USF pulls off is victorious on Saturday. Likewise, if UCF should upset the Bulls, Mayor Iorio will send Mayor Dyer some of Tampa's famous Cuban sandwiches from the Columbia Restaurant.

Last month, Mayor Iorio declared each Friday before a home game 'Green and Gold Day' in Tampa, encouraging all fans to support the team by wearing USF gear and school colors on October 12, November 2, and November 16.

The Bulls host the Knights on Saturday at noon at Raymond James Stadium.

They should do a hat/shirt kind of wager.

I'd love to see the mayor of MouseTown wearing green & gold for a day.

How does Darden food (i.e. frozen garbage from Olive Garden & Red Lobster) possibly compare to authentic Tampa Cuban's from The Columbia, a taste of Tampa history???  This is just a glittering example of the absence of culture in Orlando.

I liked the WV wager.  The mayor of the losing team had to don the winning teams colors for a week.
