lobo Posted September 16, 2007 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 159 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 06/19/2007 Share Posted September 16, 2007 I know we are only in week 3 (soon to be week 4) of the season, but if Notre Dame continues to play like they have and still get a bowl bid I will be VERY disappointed in the BCS Bowl System as a whole (more than usual). They only have to have 6 wins to be eligible, but if they "steal" a bowl from anyone (Big East or not) with a losing year I will go nuts. The sad truth is that they could have a terrible year and STILL get one ... simply because they know people will show up ... although that might change this year ... the fans are NOT happy with the Irish. Who knows ... GO BULLS!

chazmeister Posted September 17, 2007 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 223 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 08/03/2007 Share Posted September 17, 2007 If we blow out UNC and the right combination of teams lose or get blown out, we'll find ourselves in the Top 20. One game at a time, but wishful thinking I'll be rooting for: Miami over TAMU Arkansas over Kentucky Bama over UGA LSU over South Carolina Those losses would push us into the top 20 with a blowout against UNC. And just hope to god that West Virginia doesn't lose to ECU.

Who knows ... GO BULLS!Lobo, do some research before you post this stuff. ND like every other BCS program has to get 6 wins to be bowl eligible. Explain how this is different from USF two years ago when we went to Charlotte? We were 6-5, with one of those wins being against a 1AA team. How will they 'steal' a bowl with a losing record? They have a 12 game schedule, so at worst they would be 6-6 for bowl eligibility. It won't be a BCS Bowl either. It would be a less than desirable place like the Insight.com Bowl or so. I understand some people hating ND. I'm OK with it really. But the majority of time its people that don't even have a clue of how the system works. I believe Navy accepted a deal last year for Charlotte before the season started. All they had to do was get 6 wins. No one ever brings this up, but they'll bring up ND at the drop of a hat. Lobo, do yourself a favor and read up a little more on college football. I'd hate to see/hear others reading your stuff and thinking its correct.
