I hate knowing there are teams out there that we've played, but never beaten. ESPECIALLY IAA TEAMS!

SchoolWonLostLast Meeting

Alabama012003 Lost 40-17 (Birmingham)

Arkansas012002 Lost 42-3 (Little Rock)

Baylor012000 Lost 28-13 (Waco)

Drake (IAA)011997 Lost 23-22 (Tampa)

Georgia Southern (IAA)021998 Lost 28-23 (Statesboro)

Hofstra (IAA)021999 Lost 42-23 (Tampa)

Kansas012006 Lost 13-7 (Lawrence)

Kentucky012000 Lost 27-9 (Lexington)

Miami012005 Lost 27-7 (Miami)

Middle Tennessee State012000 Lost 45-9 (Murfeesboro)

North Carolina State012005 Lost 14-0 (Charlotte)

Oklahoma012002 Lost 31-14 (Norman)

Penn Sate012005 Lost 23-13 (University Pk)

San Diego State011999 Lost 41-12 (San Diego)

South Carolina012004 Lost 34-3 (Columbia)

Utah012001 Lost 52-21 (Salt Lake City)

(stats taken from http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Pressbox/8121/dabucsdb/usfvs.htm)The three IAA teams on this list should be on our future schedule as opening games! We play Kansas and North Carolina State next year, and then Miami the following year, so thanks to Woolard for already shortening this list. Tough losses to say the least. But at the time I could see that Leavitt was building a team that would compete in the future. No doubt about that. What's funny about that list is every other game (aside from Hofstra) is an away game. We've handled our business at home in most instances. We've handled our business at home in most instances.True. But most of those games were scheduled/played when USF was not in a position to get a return game in Tampa. At the time we played those, I don't think we beat most of them in Tampa (maybe Kansas). As to be expected with a young program, USF has mostly played the tougher teams on the road rather than at home. I don't think 20-30 is too bad all things considered. Baylor is still on my $hit list. They used to talk a lot of trash on the messageboards (Joeybagodonuts & friends). Now, I still think it would be nice but most people might consider it a miracle if the game was even remotely close.
