So Eric, are you allowed to say how close they are to the goal?

And what about the Practice Fields/Softball Facility?

To be honest, I don't have clue as to what money has been committed to the dining facility.  I know more about what is happening with the competition and practice facilities than that.  My focus is mainly on making sure each one of you is making your annual gift to the Bulls Club.  Renewals go out in March!

Eric

Then you don't know college athletics.  All the big schools have dining and nutritional centers for their athletes.  It would service ALL of our sports, and Leavitt is a huge advocate, as well as all the other coaches, because it would allow them to more closely regulate their athletes diets and prevent them from having to walk across campus to eat after practice...practices where football and basketball players sometimes burn 1000 or more calories a day.  I would mean, bigger, stronger, and more fit athletes.  Hmmm, steve sounds like a priority to me!

Of course you could condemn all the other BCS schools that have them for their athletic programs!

This is a BIG issue and one of the few areas where USF lags significantly behind other big programs in facilities. Leavitt, as usual, is right on about this. Big football players don't just happen. A lot of hard work goes into making these kids big, and USF definitely can use more size up front.

usf has far higher priorities for other sports at this time

we need to get real basketball players first

maybe when other top priorities for other big sports are taking care of should usf revisit issue of dining hall

leavitt need to take care of business on field:keeping coaches and beating inferior teams like cinncy and kanas

That's is true.

UCF's one opens this Sept in their Athletic Village, where all the athletes live/work/train.

PS. Smazz might be right that USF, at this time, might have other top priorities to complete first, but at least its on USF's "list" of other important projects.

We need a basketball coach.

We need a baseball stadium.

We need a softball stadium.

Building a cafeteria seems to fall right behind a new wing for the anthropology center in my eyes.

Stupid.

How about a basketball program..?  You know they can generate lots of revenue if they win more then 10 conference games in 4 years.

Just a thought.

How can this school invest 9 million dollars in a freakin cafeteria but can't pony up 700K to hire a decent basketball coach.?

Totally stupid.

Why don't we just do away with the basketball program and just admit that we don't give a rats ass about it.

Stankin program has had a losing record for four straight seasons.

What a joke.

Build a cafeterial..  How bout we hire Todd Licklliter from Butler?  9 million for a cafeteria so Amari Jackson can have a balanced meal.

Fly me to the moon ladies.
