Question for recruiting gurus

Rivals rankings:

2002 - 90th

2003 - 61st

2004 - 43rd

2005 - 50th

2006 - 59th

2007 - 58th

Our 10 3 star players this year are two more than our previous high of 8 set last year.

Who was considered the 2004 class that got us #43 ranking?

Out of curiousity what were UCF ranking during those yrs?

My only question is, how do we go from 43rd in '04 to 58th in '07? Now if somebody can explain it without using the words "crapshoot", "overrated", "making more with less" I would appreciate it. I am excited about the class but I can still make an observation based on that chart. Of course some of those '04 recruits didn't panned out but at the time we got some of the recruits that others wanted hence our ranking. Again, great class just not understanding the rankings regression.

I wonder why rivals has us so much lower than scout this year.  Not an exact science, I guess.

USF gets higher rankings from Scout because of the site membership levels and USF has a site administrator that works at getting information about each players, etc.  Also some of the senior Scout management, etc are USF alumn's or family members of USF alumn's.

The same for UCF on Rivals.  Most of UCF's fans go to Rivals rather than Scout.  More attention is given to the ratings on Rivals and very little on Scout.

Because, to be honest we SHOULD have done much better!

we just had our best season and had our best recruiting class.  chill out.

It's good to know that I should "Chill OUt" considering the fact that we came off our best season and watched two programs in this state cripple themselves. Sure Mike Ford was a great "get" for us. However, he's was smart to come here based upon the circumstances that lie within our running game. No brainer for him, how much WORK did we really have to do. This "chilled out" attitude that you refer to is AKA COMPLACENCY.

after a win a west virgina and abowl win usf should reruit as good as rutgers

usf is surrounded by talent and cant keep it in state

Think...which of those recruiting services has an USF Alumnus as one for their top recruiting analyst in the Southeast?

Certainly doesn't hurt.

blah blah, blah, blah....or it could be some guys got the stars they deserved.  Like Hill getting a four star.
