Yes schools are supossed to per NCAA, they sign several papers each year in accordance with this. Why is everyone saying this is stupid? Because it was Matt Grothe? Take the Green and Gold glasses off and look at the potential consequences of an underage kid drinking, getting into a wreck and harming themselves or others. 1) Matt and the Bull Ring would be criminally liable 2) Matt and the Bull Ring would be civilly liable. That would apply if the drinker was under or of drinking age. The only liabilty if the person was of legal age, would be if they over-served them and knew they had too much to drink. If you know someone is heavily intoxicated and a reasonable person (or those on juries) believe any more alcohol would create extra-ordinary danger to that person or others, you can be held liable.

MADD uses fear tactics to fiat laws on states. MADD is the reason the drinking age is 21. MADD is the reason the margin for DUI went from .15, to .12, to .10, to .08 in every state. MADD is singlehandedly ripping the rights of states to decide their own laws away from them. I agree that fighting drunk driving is a good thing, but MADD uses tactics of federalism and fear to mandate laws to states, blackmailing them into passing absurd laws in order to keep their access to federal highway funding. Wow. You have some issues my friend. Actually, the reason the DUI laws in the states dropped was because the children of those in MADD were being slaughtered by those with a .15 BAC, .12 BAC, .10 BAC, and .08 BAC. MADD used thier RIGHT (as you seem to like to throw that word around) to lobby the legislatures and citizens of these states and people like YOU voted in support of those laws and leaders. That is how is country works. If you want the legal BAC back at .15 you should do what they did. My feelings though are that you are with about 1 percent of this country.

USF gets higher rankings from Scout because of the site membership levels and USF has a site administrator that works at getting information about each players, etc. Also some of the senior Scout management, etc are USF alumn's or family members of USF alumn's. The same for UCF on Rivals. Most of UCF's fans go to Rivals rather than Scout. More attention is given to the ratings on Rivals and very little on Scout.

Something like this shouldn't happen. Hope Dorsey's family, friends, and your program recover from this, as best as is possible anyways. Dorsey will now get to watch over his team from above and guide them on the field and help them in other ways. Very sad to hear this regardless of which team you support. Tonight I say Go Bulls!!! UCF will never sign a 2-1 with USF. Didn't they sign some 2-1 deals with other Big East teams.  Honest question.  What's the difference. That is a good question. Those contracts with Pitt, etc were signed when UCF was independent and not part of a conference. UCF is looking to increase it's stature. GOL does not feel the team that are outside the top 25-30 deserve a 2-1 deal. Heck, he even said that he will not sign off on any future 2-1's with Miami, FSU, UF, etc. A few months back UCF and FSU were talking about some games and FSU wanted a 2-1 and GOL said thanks but no thanks. UCF now has an on campus stadium being built and will ensure they have at least 6 home games every year. Signing 2-1's with programs will give scheduale makers a headache.

And though USF today will return to UCF a decent chunk of its allotment of 5,000 tickets, the Bulls have made an active push to get more students to Saturday's game. Questionably active by some standards, even if the drive is well-intended. Student Government bought two lots totaling 1,250 tickets from UCF at a discounted rate of $12 each - half face value - then went a step further by selling them to students at $5 each, subsidizing the difference of $8,750, with some of that money coming from the Activity and Services fees students pay as part of their tuition. Monday's initial sale of 500 tickets sold quickly enough that SG called an emergency meeting that night to authorize purchase of another block of 750. Those tickets sold out Tuesday afternoon, with about 150 students still in line when the last seat was sold. Their gripe? Organizers didn't put a cap on how many tickets could be purchased, so long as there was a student ID number with every ticket purchase. As a result, one student representing a group of about 12 fraternities bought blocks of 400 tickets, while others got none. "I wanted Greek Life to come together to represent USF with one massive push for tickets together," said Charlie Aguirre, who waited in line for 90 minutes before the ticket window opened Tuesday. Thomas King, a junior and SG's comptroller, filed a memo at Monday's emergency meeting, objecting that rules governing the allocation of student funds had been circumvented in the rush to get more tickets. I have read he has been practicing everyday. And even was the scout team running back. FYI, when Universities suspend players from thier sport, they are usually not permitted to practice with the team during the period of suspension. BTW, where did you read this information? Link?

Do you know how many tickets USF has sold for this game? I was hoping to top 50K for this game in Orlando, but it seems that if USF is sending tickets back, there will not be that many.

UCF has been doing it for years. They stay at a hotel down the street from UCF and then bus over the following morning/afternoon, depending on the game time. I am sure USF does it also.

That is some old information...this is UCF's schedule as it stands now... Sept 1st @ Florida Sept 8th @ Pitt Sept 15th TEXAS Sept 29th LOUSIANA UNKNOWN @ USF With USF now in the mix, UCF will have to drop 1 game. It will not be a home game, so scratch LOUSIANA. It wouldbe either Pitt or Florida. I see UCF having a hard time decieding on this, but I think even with the increased buyout that was just renegotiated 2 months ago for Pitt, I think they drop Pitt and USF fills in there. The only other option I see is that LOUSIANA is dropped at home and USF comes to Orlando for 2007 and then UCF travels the following year. I don't see USF wanting that though, unless CUSA requires them to work around the current CUSA member as opposed to the one that bailed on them. I'm betting that we'll all grow to accept the naming rights as we acknowledge Bright House's contribution to our athletic program. I realize that we'll have to do the same thing down the road when/if we build one but for all your chest thumping about "YOUR" new on campus stadium, calling it 'Brighthouse Stadium" just deosn't seem right. 04 is right, you need to get something in their identifying with UCF. Name another OCS that goes strictly by a corporate sponsor. I realize they're out there, like Papa Johns, but it just doesn't seem to fit in with this traditional college football atmosphere you all try to push so hard ... "The Dungeon at Bright House Stadium .... "Bright Knight House Stadium" .... You need something. Just like the dozens of other facilities that have a corporate name and then a nickname, UCF will be no different. It will be Bright House Stadium. But it will also be known as "The Dungeon".
