"That was the epitome of one where you really hate to see anyone not get a win," Marquette coach Tom Crean said. "They had an answer for everything, they really did. ... We kept telling our team, 'You have no idea how hard these guys play.' ... It turned out to be one of the dramatic finishes I've ever been a part of. I can't say enough about how good South Florida is, how good a coach (McCullum) is."    St Pete Times

Here's the question: Would a Big East-winning men's bball program (above .500 in the Big East), bring in 8,000 to 9,000 fans every home gam?

Answer: NO.  I don't expect USF to ever average 9K for bball.  Not gonna happen.

if bob huggins was our coach they would bring in 9k

howmany were there today?

9000!  The same old 4000 fans plus 5000 Probation and Correctional Officers.

Published attendance = 4300     Marquette had a lot of fans in the stands.

When ND comes to town there could be as many Irish fans in the building as there are Bulls.

Everyone will jump on the bandwagon, if we win. They may not do it immediately, it may take a year or 2 of consistent winning, but USF can fill the dome. It is possible.

Note: It doesnt take much to make the Sun Dome electric. That place gets LOUD pretty easily. I dont know if it's the roof or what, but the echo in there is loud.

PLYWOOD!!

USF would need a BIG NAME coach and the commitment to advertise the program, etc.,  in oder to make a huge financial investment in men's bball worthwhile. Anything else and it's a bad investment.

Throw out the money and use the same tactics (let the staff do all the work) will be futile.

Well, the thing that I'm counting on is our AD came from a school with a  successful men's bball program...

A school without  FOOTBALL.

How successful was St Louis basketball?   I know they did extremely well attendance wise....but how many conference championships did they win during his tenure?

I have a feeling ND will have more fans in the Dome then the Bulls.  It would only take about 4000 or so.  The students need to show up in force for this one.

The Sun Dome has a lot of potential to have an amazing college basketball enviorment, and if we can put a competitive team out there, it will result in butts in seats and that place will be rockin.

with just 4,000 people there, that place can get pretty loud at times...We could really make that place a spot where teams dont want to play in.
