of course they COULD go into next year and not miss a beat... but the odds of it are not as great... and they didn't win any games last year without Petrino.  

Who knows what could happen, but the odds are that they will not be quite as good.

Why would we be predicted no worse than 2nd, if we are 4th in the big east right now?

We are behind UL, WVU and RU in the poll... all 3 of them are in the top 12... we are #29.

If all the changes hurt UL, we still have a loaded WVU and RU team to content with, plus Pitt is still loading up on talent.

Rutgers was fairly senior-heavy this year.  They won't be the same team next year...

Pitt is also losing a few players, and Revis is declaring early for the draft.  The 2008 Pitt team might be a problem...

I expect USF to be viewed as #2 in the Big East behind WVU at the pre-season.  Then, after the games are played . . .

I expect #2 or better by seasons end in the BE...

not sure you can count out Pitt, even with players leaving, and RU will still have Ray Rice and Schiano... may not be as good, but preseason rankings aren't all about reality... publicity matters too, and RU received so much publicity this year, that they'll probably get the benefit of the doubt early on.

Jim I normally agree with you, but I cannot here. USF will be rated 4th.

Even if Brohm jets to the NFL, UL still has talent and Kragthorpe will give them some legitimacy.
