I don't care what anhyone ranks USF in the state after this year.

finishing second in terms of recruiting class however would be something very impressive. Are we better than FSU/Miami? -- who knows or more to the point, who really cares?

They won the title didn't they?

Mabye outside of USC's run the last couple of years.  They might be the most succesful college football programs of the last 10 years.  9 conference titles -- 2 national titles -- 2 hiesman trophy winners.

Just keeping the board honest.

CJL has it right.  We will be in the ranks of the big 3 when we beat them.  No earlier - no later.

Sorry to be the scrooge.

Hey that sounds like something an ECUCF fan would say!  They made it, that's all that matters.

A friend of mine, who is a huge fsu fan, watched the bowl game with me and commented several times usf would likely beat fsu this year.  I agree that fsu has a deeper team with more top talent, but we are closing in and playing better with the better players that we keep signing.   FSU had a down year, and didnt click.   So did miami.  We need to capitalize and make this signing class our best ever.  I agree that we have the easiest route to the bcs game, and I hope cjl is selling that to recruits.

On the road at Auburn will be a great mile marker.  That game couldn't come at a better time.

...

They had a bad year.- for sure.  I promise you they won't be that off next year.  They aren't as bad as everyone thinks.

...

I heard that after the 2005 season  ;)

USF is ranked by the powers that be as #2 in the State of Florida.  However, I agree with the thinking that in order for us to be truly considered a true power team in the state we will have to beat at least one if not two of the big 3, and on a regular basis.

Last year we had the 7th hardest strength of schedule.  That is also an important thing to take into consideration especially if we want to get into the top 25 and be there consistently.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
