For what it's worth, I spoke to a Brighthouse rep yesterday and they said they are in "negotiations" for both ESPNU and NFL Network.  It's called supply and demand, and the rep said they've received a number of calls about both of these channels.

NFL network is terrible.

and now they have this Thursday night game thing on NFL network.  Its almost like those games don't even exsist.

Bad move by the NFL.

If the Steelers and Browns fans who emailed in masse to the NFL couldn't get anything done how the heck do you expect Rutgers and their fans to get the NFL network to ease up for a bowl game that will get 1/8th the viewership the Thursday night games would have had?

I don't think this is the NFL trying to get a monoply on the broadcasts, in fact I don't think they'll ever go away from networks. They make more money from NBC, Fox, and CBS than 30,000,000 people buying PPV at 30 bucks a pop.

Unfortunately this was another bad bowl deal the BE got involved with.

FYI...did you know that the NFL Network allows the 2 cities involved in their NFL Games to "broadcast" their games locally?

Cleveland and Pitt were able to see Thursday nights game on local TV....however, outside those 2 cities...the game was only available on the NFL Network.

For College Bowl Games...obviously the NFL Network doesn't have anything like that in place...and all the Sports Bars in NJ/NY "thank them"! (They will make a KILLING off the Rutgers Bowl Game!)

Cheapskate. Right Smaz. cause I really need Sterling Sharpe's analysis of the Baltimore Safties against the Colts tightends. The NFL these days is so overfreaking analyzed by ESPN/FOX/CBS/NBC/NFL Network it just takes all the fun out of watching the games sometimes.

I still watch, but I really don't have the passion I used to for the NFL.

Other than watching the same games for a week, what extra value does the NFL channel bring?  Do they feature upcoming college stars, do they show the philanthropy of the NFL stars?  Do they follw a player for a week during the season?

I just don't get the channel..... :-/

It sucks for both schools of the Texas Bowl.  I hope something can be worked out so everyone can enjoy the game.
