Reggie Kohn Resigns From USF Men's Basketball Staff

TAMPA, Fla.  -  University of South Florida Director of Men's Basketball Operations Reggie Kohn has resigned, citing personal reasons, effective immediately.

Kohn was in his first season with the Bulls.

"We regret that Reggie has decided to terminate his employment," head coach Robert McCullum said.  "We respect the personal reasons for which the decision was made.  It's always more difficult when you lose one of your own."

Kohn was a four-year starter and letterwinner for the Bulls who graduated following the 2002-03 campaign.  He is USF’s all-time leader in assists (632) and 3-point field goals (252) and his 1,024 career points ranks him 15th on the program’s all-time scoring list.  He earned a degree in physical education in 2003 after helping guide the Bulls to a pair of National Invitation Tournament appearances (2000, 2002).

"We thank Reggie for the contributions he made during his short tenure and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors," McCullum added.

Auman, McMurphy......what is the real reason??  He may very well have a personal problem, however it is very uncommon for a coach to resign mid-seaon, I am not saying it does not happen, it just is not a common thing.

saw this coming, I was at a game not long ago and said to a buddy, "what is he trying to accomplish here?"

I've haven't really followed Kohn but I thought he was coaching High school ball at one point. Do you guys think he was offered an assisting coaching position at the college level somewhere else or is he going back to HS?

Not too many kids his age gets a job of director of basketball operations for a Big East program.......Even if he was a head guy in high school, someone of his age doesnt go from high school straight to being 2nd or 3rd assistant in college, director of basketball operations is the 1st step in becoming a head coach.  Something just isnt adding up here.

Maybe Reggie misses coaching at the High School level?? I think Reggie has a career in coaching, so I hope he is not giving that up.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
