the students make up for about 10-11k a game. We need to get alumni involved. The good thing is that the big student turn out will turn into alumni who actually care about USF.

also keep in mind that Rutgers game was in September, when Rutgers was still "Rutgers"...if that game played as it was in November, could have been an instant classic, with a much larger crowd 40K+?? ...of course all speculation....

I'd say that's wishful thinking, Larry.

The game was on Friday night.....many season ticket holder who are normally at the game weren't able to come.

The only way I can see it reaching 40K+ if it was played in November, was if Rutgers was still undefeted and their Fans flew in by the planeload from Piscataway.

The games we had last year that were over 40K (reported) drew very large contingents of the other teams fans.

I believe if you check the recent sales history(2004/2005) you will find that those increases were very small.

How many students traveled to  the UCF game.

Student attendance has been better, however I think your 10-11K/game estimated is a bit over stated.  Does anyone have access to the actual figures for student attendance?

Understand, I not knocking the students at all.  They are supporting well.

This is just a numbers thing.  I think the student numbers are more in the 5K-7K range not 10-11K.

Season tickets are in the 15-17K level and attendance is in the 24k level correct?  Then walk up sales of 2k-5k.

:-? :-? :-? :-? :-?

Here's the problem:

(2003 stats taken from US Census Bureau)

Gainesville population 109,146 (all of which either go to school or work at UF, plus the locals that live and breathe UF)

Tallahassee 153,938 (same as above for FSU plus about 50,000 govt. employees)

Tampa Bay Area population approx. 1 million (comprised of USF students/alumni, UF alumni, FSU alumni, Miami alumni, rest of the nation alumni, etc.)

I'd say you're right on there, Tabasco.

It's hard to have good representation when you're not even the majority of your own town!

Plus, USF has not yet had the type of season which would get us some of the front running phony type fans. :D

Isn't USF one of if not the largest employers in Tampa?

What percentage of the faculyy and staff are season ticket holders?

How many of them who aren't season ticket holders buy tickets to an occassional game?

How does that compare to the faculty and staff at UF? FSU?

**************************************************

How many UF season ticket holders drive from Tampa or  Orlando to Gainsville for UF games?

How many USF season ticket holders who live in the Tampa Bay Area drive to Raymond James Stadium to see the Bulls play?  How many come from Orlando.

************************************************

What pecentage of UF alumni live in Gainesville?

What percentage of USF alumni live in the Tampa area?

HaulingBull, you ask more questions than anyone I've ever seen.

Not that this is a bad thing necessarily, just unusual.
