this is what it says on www.gousfbulls.com :

If you can’t make it to the game, information will be provided on how you can support the Bulls by purchasing tickets that will be donated to a charity in Birmingham or Houston, depending on where the Bulls play.

I hope the donated tickets are first offered to students as part of some travel package, then offered to local charities.

I will be offering my extra tickets to studends who want to go.  I'll probably hold a contest of some sort to give away a pair on the website as well...

... Otherwise, me purchasing two additional seats does little else than give me room to stretch my arms and legs.

It also helps USF who had to buy the block of tickets to get the bowl in the first place.

Yes, but it does relatively little in the big picture. Bowl organizers don't want to see a bunch of empty seats either. And two more tickets sold =/= two more tickets used, bodies in seats, meals purchased, hotel rooms purchased, etc.

Let's put it this way:

From USF's standpoint:

2 empty seats that WERE sold by USF > 2 empty seats that were NOT sold by USF

Because that's less money that the athletic department needs to eat in terms of unsold tix.

True enough, but I'm trying to find a way to put butts IN those seats.

Well, heck, so am I, but short of reproducing in 3 weeks, I can't really figure out how...

I'm buying the tix.  If I can find a butt to put in them, all the better.  But I'm buying them anyway to help out my university.

My thinking is that for fans that can not attend, this is a simple way to help support USF Football.

Don't you all think that Athletics will do something like they did last year with our glass encased tickets that most of us bought with CJL's autograph?  That's how most of us supported USF last year, but we never heard who used the seats............
