Im writing a motivational speech for my public speaking class and thought I'd motivate the class to attend more USF sporting events, especially football. Any one know where I can find alot of attendance statistics and other relevant stats

I don't know of a lone document that recaps attendance for all sports, but the media guides on the official site provide attendance data.

Our resident statistician may also have some info for you.

I hope your speech is successful and you have a positive impact on the attendance numbers.

And since you are "targeting" football, something to start with would be the story of 14 High School Football players that came to USF in 1996's first recruiting class and stayed the entire 5 years, one of which is NFL Star Anthony Henry of the Dallas Cowboys.

Brett of the Trib has done a couple stories on them, send him an email and he may be able to supply the links.

Another inspirational story is Jason Butler, LB. He suffered nerve damage and could not extend his foot all the way down or something freaky like that, but still played!

Ryan Benjamin, also one of the Original 14 was the teams Long Snapper. Leavitt told him that if he could do it well enough, he would give hi a scholly. His entire career here, he did not have 1 bad snap. He went on to the Bucs and played in the Super Bowl victory over the Raiders.

DANG !!! I Love USF Football !!!

I actually did a similar speech in Public Speaking my freshmen year. I believe it had something to do with us being in a BCS gane, I remember spending 2 hours changing it after the UCONN game.

"USF Football ... The First 10 Years" DVD takes a look back at the meteoric rise of the USF football program, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.  The limited edition DVD covers the program's opening days, during which it operated in trailers outside of the Sun Dome, to the team's first-ever bowl game appearance in 2005.

The DVD features over one hour of content, including a 51-minute narrated documentary as well as several bonus features.  The DVD includes highlights, interviews and other behind-the-scenes benchmarks that proved critical in the development of the program.

Good luck. If you can persuade any new students to come out to the game then you should get an A in my book.

Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves "hey, I'm gonna go out and GET THE WORLD BY THE TAIL and wrap it around and pull it down and put it in my pocket."

Well I'm here to tell you that you're probably going to find-- as you go out there-- that you're not going to amount to JACK SQUAT!

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
