Leavitt is going nowhere because he loves where he is.  He was mentioned last night along with other big east coaches and others for the Alabama job because they wanted him before.  That's good for publicity because it shows recruits he is valued nationally.  His devotion to USF is also helpful for recruits because they know the program is on a stready rise.

Hopefully the special teams can work themselves out by next year, and we will have a very special team.  Most players returning (minus some key linebackers), and most of those returning won't be seniors themselves.  Very exciting future for USF.

Thanks for the update, Greg.

Greg's blog has become regular reading in my house.

Well done...again.

I agree Windbane.  If we can fill in those LB spots with a couple of decent players and get some consistency in our kicking game, look out. Plus, let's hope we don't have to suspend anyone for half the season next year.

Loyalty is something that often isn't seen anymore. Leavitt realizes that this is his home, we are in a BCS conference, best state to recruit in, great weather, and a chance at making history.

I love the quotes.

1) Jim Leavitt said that his name being mentioned is a reflection of the program.  Thus, it shows RESPECT for USF.

2) Jim Leavitt said that his name being mentioned means he is being successful.

"I'm glad my name is mentioned. I hope my name is mentioned every year, because that means we're winning," Leavitt said.

And I agree with The Jim !
