Bowl Situation Figured Out-Please Confirm

Before today, I'd agree, but after this game, Matt should get some pub as a freshman "phenom", comparable to the UT qb. If you're a bowl, or a network, trying to sell watching a bowl to unbiased sports fans, who could you make a better story of .... USF, a 10 yr old program, not far removed from working out of trailers, with a frosh qb superstar in the making or Cincinnati ..... The only thing Cincy has over us is a win.

I hear ya.  This really is only a discussion for Texas.

If the Big East doesn't get 2 BCS bids, it's all moot and we're going to Birmingham.

I am so hoping for the Texas bowl .........

Another thing to remember, I think the Texas bowl is in Reliant Stadium, a retractable roof stadium.  Translation: Warm weather for the game.  Not that Houston gets that cold anyway, but a guaranteed 72 degree game.  It can get nasty cold in Bham.

True.  It is getting bigger... but Colt McCoy is the most (overrated, ahem) well-known freshman QB in the country.

USF is SLOWLY getting more well known.  And today's game went a long way.

I just think Matt's story isn't necessarily THE reason the Texas Bowl should select USF over Cincy.

In the next few years, Matt will be mentioned among the elite college QB's -- as more and more people see what we have seen...

I think it seems fairly likely you all will go to Birmingham.  I believe Birmingham is probably closer for most of your fans, but not positive.  How many folks do yall think you'd bring?  Alot of people are thinking USM will be the CUSA representative for the Papa John's Bowl so they'll probably travel pretty well if it is indeed USM that is selected.

Probably will be ECU then since Birmingham is most likely the closest of the CUSA-affiliated bowls.

And another thing I noticed for those of you USF basketball fans... the UAB-USF game in Birmingham is on Dec. 27th.  That's only 4 days after the bowl game if you played in Birmingham... only thing, however, is that would mean staying in Birmingham over Christmas so that will likely eliminate that possibility for most of you.  Just throwing it out there, though.
