For those of you who were chanting "Rudy!" towards the end of the game on Saturday:

#86 Max Meisel

Hometown: Weston, CT

Class: Junior

Height: 5-4

Weight: 149 lbs.

POSITION: WR

And just like Rudy, he made the team as a walk-on.

That was our section that came up with the great chant.

And he is NOT 5'4''!!  No way!  He was soooooooo cute...so tiny...awww.

I loved how they almost took him out and we all started to Boo and then he was back in. :-)

I was really hoping he'd get the ball somehow!!!

Well... I was actually hoping Trea Williams wasn't going to jam him into next week at the line because I'm sure he could have!

I sent him a message via facebook:

Me: "Hey, good job out there on Saturday! Us here at South Florida were supporting you out there! Good luck on the rest of the season!"

Max: "Thanks man, that's really cool of you to say. I was actually returning punts for the first 7 games while the starter was injured so now that he has back I haven't been seeing the field. You guys had such a kick ass student section. I wish ours were like that. Take it easy, enjoy that weather!!"

Sent him a message too... seems like a really nice kid, very inspirational story.  The more I read stuff like this, the more I like the 'Cuse program... hope they get a few wins to close out their season.
