They have already sold 31,000 tickets to the Texas Bowl. There wont be half that in attenance in Birmingham for a noon game on a Friday. As things are going, UL and WVU could possibly get a BCS bid, Rutgers gets the Gator Bowl, leaving Texas to pick next. It would be us or Pitt. Pitt probably gets picked over us though. Also the TX Bowl is only on the NFL Network. Very strange. Not sure what that even is. Guest
Man, how many threads do we need to have on this topic??This was posted on this thread...The only way Texas is an option is if Louisville, WVU and ND all make the BCS. You could substitute Rutgers for WVU as well, but we'll need any combination of ND and 2 Big East teams in the BCS for that to happen. Even if we won the last 2 it would be tough because Louisville and WVU are assured to travel better than we are.Flip is correct... there are really three options right now:BCS: WVU/RU Winner & Notre DameGator: WVU/RU LoserTexas: LouisvilleInternational: Pitt/CincyBirmingham: USFORBCS: WVU/RU Winner, Notre Dame & LouisvilleGator: WVU/RU LoserTexas: USFInternational: Pitt/CincyBirmingham: Pitt/CincyORBCS: WVU/RU WinnerGator: Notre DameTexas: WVU/RU Loser or LouisvulleInternational: WVU/RU Loser or LouisvilleBirmingham: USFThe above assumes that Pittsburgh and Cincinnati both finish at 6-6. In that case, USF has to be selected before Pitt or Cincy per NCAA regulations. If Pitt upsets either Louisville or WVU, they could change the above.Root for Cincy & Pitt to lose - and we're in... so people like Bullsmania and Bullheaded no longer have to root for Notre Dame. Cal lost last night so we need to them to lose to usc.Boise State won 23-20, so we still need them to lose. The good thing that transpired from yesterday's games is that certain conferences will now only get there Champion in the BCS and not get an at large. The SEC will only get it's champion in the BCS. LSU would have to beat both Arkansas and Florida to get in since they cannot afford another loss. With Texas losing, the Big 12 will only get its champion in the BCS now. The PAC 10 is looking looking at 1 BCS bid now. The Big 10 is assured of 2 bids. The ACC will get one.As of the moment, 3 of the 4 BCS at large bids are being held by:Ohio State-Michigan loserNotre Dame (good from a USF and Big East standpoint)Boise State (not good from a Big East standpoint)Boise State's only tough game left is at Nevada in 11/25. If they were to lose and free up another at large spot, then the Big East's chances for a second team are greatly improved.

Consider that they have a few teams ahead of them that will fall... if they beat Arkansas, Arkansas will still get to the SEC Championship game (Arkansas needs to lose to Mississippi State for LSU to go to Atlanta)... so LSU beats Arkansas... then the WVU/RU loser falls... the ND/USC loser falls... LSU could be #5 or #6 in the BCS... hard to ignore a team that high when looking for an at-large team.

Let's just hope Arkansas takes care of business against them. That game is in Fayetteville this I believe, so that should help Arkansas.
