Since the Birmingham Bowl seems a likely scenario for us, does anyone know about the rest of the festivities surrounding it? Right now BirminghamBowl.com is no help. Will there be a FanFest? Pep Rallies? Parade? Anyone know?

i dont think anyone can really be certain yet because it is an inaugural bowl, no telling what will happen... but i would think the bowl committee would want to be more "over the top" with events this year because it is the first bowl for them.

Although it's the first year for the bowl and festivities SHOULD be good, it's in Alabama! What are we going to go gator hunting or hill billy fishing?  There's nothing good about Alabama.  The Auburn stadium becomes the 5th biggest city on thier game nights.  Alabama has nothing.

If weather is nice...one has to hit the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama.

Courses all over...but the resort in BHM is very nice...especially those use to playing golf on "flat" courses in FLA.

Here's some helpful links to the Oxmoor Valley resort in BHM...and the rest of the Golf Trail.

PS. If weather is bad...hit this mall in Birmingham...and enjoy the top NASCAR racing simulators available.

The night life in Birmingham is great. All those that are bashing Birmingham have never been there, its a great little city.

I was going to reply with the same thing.  BHAM is a nice city with a great night life.  In it's past it rivaled pittsburgh as an industrial steel town.

So will they play that stupid "Sweet Home Alabama" song over and over?

And why does "Birmingham love the governor?"

Personally,  Neil Young > Lynard Skynard.

In Birmingham they love the governor... referring, of course, to George Wallace... and the backup singers sing "Boo Boo Boo"... and the next line is that "we all did what we could do" - to end the racism.

Lynyrd Skynyrd > Neil Young ... A southern man don't need him around anyhow...

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.
