Sorry Joe... but have you watched UNC lately? They are awful - probably the 2nd worst team we've faced behind McNeese State.  I count it as an easy win.  Same with Cincy, who struggled against MAC teams.

Syracuse plays @ West Virignia, Louisville, and @ Cincinnati before coming to Tampa.  Not sure that they will be "fighting for a bowl' game.  More than likely, they will be 4-5 or 3-6.

This, of course, is my analysis today - the Saturday after an easy win over U Conn... things could change week to week.

MAC we are not that far from mac teams based on our play this year, so i would not be so smug ;)

if ND strugles and does not go to a bcs game (take gator) then there will be less bowl games  only 3 if navy takes meinike.

You're not so good at math, are you? ;-) ;-) ;-)

Big East has six bowl slots: BCS, Gator/Sun, Meineke, Texas, International, & Birmingham.

Six minus two (ND & Navy) equals four. Not three.

Also, if ND doesn't go to a BCS game, then chances are two Big East teams will...

10 BCS Slots: 6 Conference Champions plus 4 AT LARGE...

No Conference can send more than 2.

That means three conferences get 2 slots, plus Notre Dame... or four conferences get 2 teams in the BCS.

The Big 10 will get 2, so will the SEC.  The PAC 10 might (Cal & USC).  The Big 12? Probably not. The ACC? Doubtful.  Can't see the Big East missing out on 2 teams if ND doesn't go.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
