Rutgers just does not have the QB in my opinion. It is not to say that their WRs are not too bad, I just think Mike Teel is easy to pick off and knock down. Lets be honest, there wont be many teams that will be able to shut both Rice and Leornard down even when they know it is coming at them. They are too talented with what they do in the run game. USF was the same last season with Andre Hall. Teams knew we were going to run, but not many could stop Hall. I think Rutgers deserves that ranking especially after beating USF on the road where it is not that easy to do. Would Rutgers be ranked without Rice or Leonard??? Hell no they would be struggling. I do thing their defense has improved over last season which is a good sign for their future. Rutgers needs to make sure they keep their Coach Schiano because he can recruit some good athletes.  Tony Soprano needs to do all he can to make sure Miami does not steal him away. I really thing that Rutgers will be able to give Schiano a ton of money to lock him up.  I have to be honest that I dont think he is the best X and O coach though, I just think he can recruit and that the players play hard for him.

Tell Michigan State how easy a win is against Illinois. And who has Michigan State beat?

every game has it's own set of variables-- this isn't an exact science.

I am just shocked that Schiano has not been able to recruit a decent QB with him getting every player in the state of FL ... who's their backup ... they should drop every scholarship for their QB's and get more running backs ...

Quoting CollegeCard from the Big East board:

Rutgers actually went from 117 votes to 178, but the writers didn't spread out the wealth this week. 40 teams received votes last week, but only 35 this week.

I think having Rutgers drop in the rankings is a big slap to the face of the USF program. The media just does not get it doe they?

The media doesn't get what ... that Rutgers barely held on against a team that lost to *Kansas* and barely snuck by a I-AA team? Oh, whenever will they learn!

The AP is the media poll and it's not the best poll to judge teams.  Meanwhile in the coaches poll, RU remains the same at #23.  In fact Boston College drop out of the Coaches poll after a win.  The coaches poll has more creditability than the AP.  Also, RU remained at #23 in the Harris poll.

Yes ... the same coaches poll that landed Texas a BCS game two years ago because of Mack Brown's plea to his fellow coaches. It's dripping with credibility ... er, "creditability."
